Facts About Espresso Beans

Most of us are coffee drinkers. We love that freshly brewed flavor and aroma of finely roasted java. In my opinion it's practically incomparable. I have to put a restriction on my coffee drinking. Since I am of the 90s generation, meaning this is when I was in high school, I prefer lattes. I never acquired a taste for the drip brew. By the time I was reaching adulthood, the Gloria Jean's, Starbuck's and Seattle's Best craze had already begun. Iced lattes with a flavored syrup were my first tastes of the java phenomenon. However, it did take me quite some time to learn and fully comprehend the importance of quality, fresh espresso beans. If you also enjoy espresso drinks on a regular basis, you should also understand the way this process works. Don't get stuck with the old bitter stuff!

So what about the chains? Granted we all love coffee houses such as Starbuck's and Seattle's Best, but why do you think this is? Is it really because of their outstanding espressobeans? No way! Chances are you're sipping on some old, out of date espresso in these coffee dives. We love these places for two reasons. One, they are readily available everywhere. And two, they are consistent with their products. I know what I'm getting when I enter a Starbuck's, and I do appreciate that. On the other hand, the one thing I would change are the espresso beans.

Espresso Beans Need to be Fresh

Are these espresso beans fresh? They typically taste old and slightly burnt to me. Some folks may enjoy this or it may be the only thing they're used to. However, if you've ever tried truly fresh espresso beans, you must know the difference. I spoke with a man who roasts espresso beans for a living. He runs a small coffee shop and decided to roast his own beans simply because he wanted them to be that fresh. I think this is a great idea. He informed me that espressobeans generally have a lifespan of two weeks before they begin to get old and acidic tasting.

You can enjoy whatever java you please in this day and age. Internet access has made this simple. Any fool can get online and place an order for the espresso beans of their choice. Have them roasted specifically for you and shipped immediately. This way you can see the difference between what's fresh and what's not. You may never look at coffee chains the same again. Happy coffee time!
